Last Friday (01.05) was the Labour Day and, the same as in Spain, a bank holiday in the Czech Republic.
Two months ago I had been sent from Teneriffe a special flour to make arepas, a cornmeal bread typical from Latin America and the Canary Islands; and because I specially like arepas, I was just waiting for a special day to prepare them. So last Friday I invited my friend Katka and her daughter to my flat. They appeared with a bunch of scented šeřik (lilacs), a symbol of freedom in the Czech Republic, and some other presents. We spend a lovely morning: cooking, talking, listening to music and EATING!! Also little Karolinka decorated the fridge with her speci al art!
In the afternoon, more guests wanted to try arepas: Naty, Ivo and Ivuška also came with some nice presents and tried the tuna arepas!! It was great!

After lunch, I joined them to visit Kroměříž Castle (UNESCO World Heritage Site); there was an exhibition of wedding decorations. The cold rooms in the old castle shined with a large display of decorated tables, cakes and sweets, wedding dresses, candles and flowers… You could try different Czech wines, and desserts or simply put some wigs or hats on and pose for the photographer!
The cherry on the top was a fun ride on a ninja turtle: Ani, we are FLYIING, yipeee!
PS: Have I ever told you how much I like flowers?
