At the end of April Álvaro, a Spanish volunteer in Náchod organized a Spanish week to introduced Spanish culture and traditions to the people from Déčko, the organization where he is working at. Déčko is a center which offers non-formal education to children within the ages of five to eighteen years.
One of the activities was to invite some other Spanish volunteers to talk about our experience in the Czech Republic. I thought it was a great opportunity for me because I could also get to see some of the other volunteers I had met in the EVS meetings.
In my way to Náchod, I met Hanny, a young gadder who lives quite close to me, in Brno. Once in Náchod, Álvaro picked us up at the station and showed us the town center. At night, we went to the organization and gave the presentations about our time in the country of beer. Afterwards, a surprise! There was a professional magician in the audience, who showed us some of his great card tricks, WHAT? HOW? CO?!!
Next day in the morning, we went for a walk through the forest up to Náchod Zámek or castle. It was a pity that it were closed, but at least we saw the bears. We also saw different kind of deers grazing in the park nearby. After this, we walked back to the center, we had a meeting with a class of Spanish learners in Jiráskovo Gymnázium. We made a short presentation in Spanish about our EVS and students had the chance to practice their language skills with native speakers. It felt weird for me to speak Spanish again, since it’d been a while.
